    Awards and Recognition

The Center for Service-Learning and Public Service confers bi-annual and annual certificates and awards recognizing students' valuable service-learning and public service/civic engagement services to the campus and community.

  • Certificate of Completion: Upon completion of service-learning assignment, students will receive a certificate of completion from EVC President.
  • EVC official transcript:  Student who have completed 50 or more Service-Learning and or Public Service hours will have their hours documented on EVC official transcript.
  • Special Programs Award Ceremony: Graduates who have completed Service-Learning and or Public Service will be honored with a service medallion at annual Special Programs Award Ceremony.
  • Annual Commencement Ceremony Recognition:  Graduates who have completed 100 hours or more of service will receive a silver graduation cord at annual commencement ceremony.

President's Volunteer Service Award logo President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) is a Corporation for National and Community Service and the Points of Light Institute initiative. PVSA recognizes individuals who have made valuable contributions to their communities through service and civic engagement within a 12-month period. A special "President's Call to Service" award is also granted to individuals who have completed more than 4,000 hours of service over their lifetime.  

4 Easy Steps To Apply

1. Register at the Center for SL&PS in the Acacia building A4-224

2. Complete 100+ hours of community service/civic engagement at a non-profit organization or school within a 12-month period

3. Document service hours on our SL&PS forms

4. Submit SL&PS forms and proof of citizenship or permanent residence for verifications to Center at A4-224
