Dear Neighbors and Friends:
For more than 40 years Evergreen Valley College has been an integral part of the San Jose community. We’re proud to play an important role in the economic development of our community and the lives of the South Bay community. Our students come to Evergreen Valley College for job training, university transfer, and other learning opportunities. They expect us to provide the best every day, and we do.
Our college serves graduating high school students, working families and veterans who need college transfer and career readiness. I am writing to update you on our discussion on how to address these community needs and priorities.
California’s four‐year colleges and university systems are just too expensive. More and more students rely on the community college system to obtain an affordable education. To continue to support training in such fields as computer science, law enforcement, nursing and engineering, we need thecommunity’s help.
The District recently conducted a survey of the constituents to assess what they feel to be the most pressing educational needs. Here is what we heard:
In the coming months, we will continue to update you regarding the District’s efforts in addressing these needs and priorities. If you were one of the hundreds of people who participated in our survey, thank you! Otherwise, please join the community by taking a few moments to fill out the Community Feedback Form and return it today. We welcome your comments. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at

Welcome to Evergreen Valley College
As a community college we understand that "community" is about all of us at EVC and the community we serve. It is an honor for us to provide the highest quality education to our students and our neighbors. We take our responsibility seriously because we live here too.
Many of our faculty and staff are active in community agencies and activities. It's important for us to be good neighbors to benefit all of us.
We invite you to the campus. Stroll through open spaces and see all of the new construction! We're growing and changing, just like the community. Come visit your community college.
