Procedure for new "FIRST TIME" college students:
Credit By Examination
Students may earn college credit by examination under specified conditions. Not all courses can be challenged through credit by examination. Courses which are eligible for the Credit by Examination process are identified in the college catalog by the letter "E" listed in the "grading" designation for the course. Information relative to testing dates and procedures may be obtained from any college counselor.
College credit will be granted to students who provide the college with official test results showing minimum passing scores for either CEEB or CLEP examinations.
Credit will be granted according to the recommendation approved or listed in the Instructional Guide for noncredit courses published by the American Council of Education.
Credit by examination shall be granted to a maximum of 12 units. A student must be registered at Evergreen Valley College at the time he/she applies and takes the examination. An application for credit by examination must be approved by the appropriate instructional dean. Credit shall be posted only when a student has completed at least 12 units of study at Evergreen Valley College.
Veterans who have served 180 days or more of active duty are eligible to receive two (2) units for Military Science, two (2) units for Physical Education, and two (2) units for Health Education.
