In many cultures, people are given messages growing up” Go to school, get good grades, and you will get a good-paying job.” It takes more than good grades. Building a reputation: “What people say about you when you are not present.” plays a huge role in reaching academic and career success. Many people are brought up thinking they should focus on reaching career goals after they complete their studies. If you are an EVC student, your career has already started. Having a positive reputation with the right people means:
- Having more insider information about industries to be competitive in the job market.
- Better ways to manage stress and manage conflict
- Have more doors open for opportunities
- Better references and letters of recommendation for jobs, scholarships, internships, etc.
The workshop will over the following:
- Making a positive first impression in the classroom, and on campus
- How to build meaningful connections with the right people
- The art of asking for references and/or writing letters of recommendation.
