Pre-requisite Clearances (for example, you need to take a course at EVC but that course requires you to complete a prerequisite course first, AND if you already completed the prerequisite course(s) at another CA Community College or University, then you could meet with a Counselor to request the prerequisite clearance. Keep in mind that Counselors are ONLY allowed to clear prerequisite courses that are either verifiable and/or pre-approved by the specific subject department/faculty. Otherwise, the Counselor will refer you to meet with the Dean and their respective Administrative Assistant directly to submit the appropriate documentations for review and possible prerequisite clearances. Remember to bring your transcripts and/or AP exam scores when you meet with the Counselor).
In-progress Verification Petition (for example, if you need to get approval to take next-level course at EVC while currently enrolled in the equivalent prerequisite course(s) at another college or university, then you will need to schedule a 30-minute appointment with a Counselor to go over the process and submit the form to the appropriate person. Remember to bring your transcripts and/or AP exam scores when you meet with the Counselor).
Preliminary Evaluation of Transcripts (for example, if you completed college-level courses at another college or university and need to know what other courses to take at EVC to complete your educational goals/objectives, then you should meet with a Counselor to do a preliminary evaluation of transcripts and complete an abbreviated student education plan. Remember to bring your transcripts and/or AP exam scores when you meet with the Counselor). Keep in mind that Formal Evaluation of Transcripts will be done by Evaluators, ONCE student completes and/or registered in at least 12 units at EVC. Also, students MUST initiate the Request for Transcript Evaluation process with the Evaluators or with any Counselor. Please make sure to send all OFFICIAL transcripts to Evaluators for processing first before request of the Formal Evaluation of Transcripts.
