Eligibility Criteria
- Applications and instructions will be available on September 1st through October 31st at http://www.evc.edu/nursing/, and outside of the Nursing Program’s Office, S207.
- The application period is September 1st – October 31st, for enrollment in the following academic year. Once selection is determined, the student will be assigned to begin nursing coursework in either the Fall or Spring semester. In order to apply to the nursing program, the student must have completed the prerequisite courses.

The criteria for the nursing program:
Fall 2009 Applicants for enrollment Fall 2010/Spring 2011 and thereafter
- High School Graduation or Equivalent
- Human Anatomy with Lab* (Minimum 4 Semester Units)
- Note: Applicants with Combined Anatomy and Physiology must also have Human Physiology with Lab* Minimum 4 Semester Units within 5 Years
- Physiology with Lab* (Minimum 4 Semester Units within 5 years)
- Microbiology with Lab* (Minimum 4 Semester Units)
- English 001A*
- Reading: Demonstrate college-level reading skills on district assessment test or complete Engl
102* (College Reading) or equivalent - Evidence of a qualifying score on the Test for Essential Academic Skills (TEAS): Adjusted Individual Total Score of 72%

- Cumulative GPA 2.5 or Higher AND GPA 2.5 or Higher in Prerequisite Science Courses
- If there are more applications than spaces available
- 50% Admissions Based on Cumulative GPA (minimum 3.7 GPA or Higher)
50% Admissions Based on Random Selection
*With grade of “C” or higher

Tuition Fees
Resident students pay California Community College enrollment fees each semester. Non-resident students pay enrollment fees as established by the District.
Approximate Costs Related to the Program
- Uniforms, laboratory coat and shoes: approximately $180.00 - $230.00 total both years.
- Books, syllabi, supplies, personal health insurance, approximately $1,700.00 both years.
- CPR training approximately $35.00.
- Physical exam and immunizations, variable costs.
Students are responsible for their own meals, housing and transportation to campus and assigned clinical agencies. For students who qualify for financial aid, financial aid and loan applications are available at the Financial Aid Office.
