Evergreen Valley College has many programs and services that will help you to achieve your personal, career and educational goals. We are excited that you have chosen to attend our college and look forward to helping you meet your goals.
The goals of this orientation are:
- To orient you to Evergreen Valley College's academic programs and services, facilities, resources and policies and procedures
- To provide you basic tools for educational planning including career and major requirements
- To provide you information on graduation and transfer requirements to a four year university
- Provide tips on study techniques and time management
- To educate you on the basics of course selection and the registration process
Before you start the orientation you will need to do the following:
- Apply to the college.
You can do this online by visiting this link Evergreen Valley College application or printing the online form and sending it to the address listed (you must have Adobe Acrobat to view this)
You are eligible to apply to the college if you have met at least one of the following criteria:- You are a high school graduate or have obtained a GED
- Have passed the graduate proficiency exam
- You are 18 years or older
- You have officially been released from your home high school if under 18 years old.

You can also check the page for residency requirements.
- Complete the English or ESL (English as a Second Language) and Math placement tests. This will help us in determining which English and Math levels are appropriate for you. To get more information on how to obtain the assessment schedule go to assessment page here.
- Obtain a current class schedule and a college catalog. Both will assist you in choosing classes. You can get both from the on campus Admissions and Records department or electronically. The schedule is available online Evergreen Valley College schedule or on campus at the counseling office. The Evergreen Valley College catalog is also available on campus or online.
You may be exempt from taking this orientation, if one or more apply to you:
- You are enrolling in open curriculum classes only
- You are enrolling in non-degree applicable courses other than pre-collegiate basic skills
- You are enrolling in apprenticeship courses only
- You have an A.A., and/or B.A., or other college degrees
