Asian American Comedian Amy Anderson Performs at Evergreen Valley College

When: Friday, November 9, 2007
Where: Evergreen Valley College, Montgomery Hall, 6:45 pm
Tickets: $3 w/AS Sticker, $4 w/o AS sticker, $6 at the door
“I Failed Math” is what Amy Anderson’s promotional stickers say. That wouldn’t be funny if you didn’t know that Amy Anderson is 100% Korean. Anderson was adopted by a Swedish family in suburban Minnesota when she was just five months old and grew up in an all-white neighborhood.
On November 9, Anderson brings her own brand of Chop-SHTICK to Evergreen Valley College, as part of a national college tour.
Turning Asian stereotypes on their head is what Anderson’s comedy is all about. So is hard work. Fresh off two sold-out theater shows in Minneapolis, Anderson has established herself as one of the hottest up-and-coming comedians in the country. On November 17, Anderson will perform in HBO’s Comedy Festival in Las Vegas, alongside Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen Degeneres, Chris Rock and Wanda Sykes.
Evergreen Valley College’s Pacific Islander Club and Associated Students proudly present an amazing performer, who describes herself as a Comedian/Actor/Writer/Producer/All Around Groovy Gal. Oh, she’s also an accomplished pianist and guitarist.
Parking is free to ticket holders in Student Lot 4A, near the PE and Library buildings and Lots 2 and 3 near the Cedro Building.
