Placement
Completion of the full sequence of courses 1A, 1B and 2A, 2B satisfies UC Foreign Language requirements. Students planning to transfer before completion of the World Language sequence or planning to major in World Languages should consult the instructor. A student with a World language background or previous training in a language should consult the instructor for placement.

The World Languages Program offers a Certificate of Achievement in Spanish Translation and Interpretation and a Vietnamese Translation and Interpretation and several courses. We are confident you will find a degree and/or course of interest and will enjoy the many options available in the program.

A program map is a suggested semester-by-semester plan to help you complete the courses required for a particular degree or certificate. Based on the major sheet, it includes courses in the major, general education courses, and any necessary electives.
