Dual Enrollment

Evergreen Valley College offers various early-college opportunities for K-12 students, allowing students to complete college courses while still enrolled in middle or high school.

Dual Enrollment is currently offered in two different ways:

  1. Concurrent Students
    Eligibility: any high school student
    - Enroll in college class at their own accord
    - Enroll in open courses
    - Take up to 11 units for Fall/Spring
    - Take up to 7 units for Summer
    - Do not pay enrollment fees
  2. College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) students
Eligibility: student attending a high school in partnership with EVC through a CCAP agreement
    - Enroll in a closed, cohort-based course
    - Take classes that may be held at the high school
    - Take up to 15 units per semester, or up to 4 courses (CCAP courses only)
    - Do not pay enrollment fees

Benefits of Program

  • Students are exempt from paying enrollment fees
  • Take classes beyond what high schools offer, earning college credit
  • An accelerated path to and through college, saving time and money
  • Students who complete even a single college class are more likely to graduate from high school, attend college, and earn an Associate's degree or higher.

Steps for dual enrollment students

  1. Create an OpenCCC Account
You will receive a CCCID # once finished. Write down your username and password for your reference. You're NOT done yet! Make sure to click on "Continue" to go to the Secure CCC Application to apply to EVC.

  2. Submit an EVC Application
Wait 72 hours for your application to be processed and you will receive your 7-digit EVC ID # via email. If you do not receive an automated email within 72 hours, please contact Admissions & Records with your full name, DOB, and CCCID #.

Returning students: If you did not attend EVC in the last two major semesters (Fall & Spring), you must reapply as a new student.

  3. Consult your school counselor to find out what courses are being offered and choose what course(s) you would like to take. Refer to the schedule of classes to see what will be offered in the next term. You must adhere to any prerequisite requirements. *HS students are not eligible to take PE or basic skills courses.

  4. Submit a Special Admit Form to Admissions & Records
    • Requires most recent unofficial transcript
    • Requires student, legal guardian, and principal signature
    • [PDF form]: Fillable form available to print/download. Completed forms must be emailed to evcar@evc.edu.
    • [Electronic webform]: Requires email addresses for all signers. Completed forms will automatically be emailed to Admissions & Records.
    • [Middle School Students - Special Admit Form]: Students in grades 6-8, please use this form and submit to the Dean of Enrollment Services at Sam.Morgan@evc.edu.
      • Middle school students must be recommended by an official from their school and must attach a recommendation letter to their Special Admit Form.
You will receive an email from an EVC Counselor with next steps. If approved, you will receive instructions on how to enroll via MyWeb. Meanwhile, you can setup/access your MyWeb and Canvas accounts. See instructions below for first time users.
