Dual Enrollment


​Evergreen Valley College offers various early-college opportunities for K-12 students, allowing students to complete college courses while still enrolled in middle or high school. 

Dual Enrollment is currently offered in two different ways:

  1. Concurrent Students
    Eligibility: any high school student
    - Enroll in college class at their own accord
    - Enroll in open courses
    - Take up to 11 units for Fall/Spring
    - Take up to 7 units for Summer
    - Do not pay enrollment fees
  2. College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) students
    Eligibility: student attending a high school in partnership with EVC through a CCAP aggreement
    - Enroll in a closed, cohort-based course
    - Take classes that may be held at the high school
    - Take up to 15 untis per semester, or up to 4 courses
    - Do not pay enrollment fees

Benefits of Program

  • Students are exempt from paying enrollment fees
  • Take classes beyond what high schools offer, earning college credit
  • An accelerated path to and through college, saving time and money
  • Students who complete even a single college class are more likely to graduate from high school, attend college, and earn an Associate's degree or higher.

Steps for high school students

  1. Create an OpenCCC Account
    You will receive a CCCID # once finished. You're NOT done yet! Make sure to click on "Continue" to go to Secure CCC Application to apply to EVC.

  2. Submit an EVC Application
    Wait 72 hours for your application to be processed and you will receive your 7-digit EVC ID #. Check your personal email address that you used to apply. If you do not receive an automated email within 72 hours, please contact the Dual Enrollment Program office and confirm your name and date of birth.

  3. Consult your high school counselor to find out what course(s) are being offered and choose what course(s) you would like to take. Refer to the schedule of classes to see what will be offered in the next term. You must adhere to any prerequisites requirements.

  4. Submit an R-40 Form
    • Identify the 6-digit RegID(s) for the course(s) you would like to take
    • Attach transcripts (if needed)
    • Requires student, legal guardian(s), and principal signature
    For support collecting signatures electronically, please send an email to Dual.Enrollment@evc.edu and provide a valid email address for yourself, legal guardian(s) and your school principal. You will receive an email from the Program Office to fill and sign the R-40 online. 

  5. Setup/Access your MyWeb and Canvas accounts:
    MyWeb (Student Portal: allows you to register/drop classes, request transcripts, etc)
    username: first 2 letters of FIRST name + first 2 letters of LAST name + last 4 digits of your EVC ID#
    password: your 6-digit date of birth (ex. Jan 2, 2003 = 010203)

    Canvas (Classroom Portal: allows you to access your class, complete homework, tests, etc)
    username: same as MyWeb
    password: check your personal email to receive a temporary password and setup your new password
