An EVC Tradition: The Gloria Zufall Scholarship Fun Walk-Jog Race

The 21st Annual Gloria Zufall Scholarship fun race was held on Wednesday, October 23, and we raised $1,875 dollars. Thank you!
This
race was started to honor retired professor Gloria Zufall who started
teaching at San Jose City College and transferred to Evergreen Valley
College when it was founded in 1975.
The
scholarship race was created by the Physical Education department to
honor Professor Zufall for her dedication and love of teaching.
The
event is divided into a morning race at 9:30 AM and an
afternoon race at 1:45 PM to give students, staff, faculty, and
administrators an opportunity to participate. The race offers a course
for walkers of 1.5 miles, and a challenging course of 2 miles in the
hills behind the campus for walkers, joggers and runners.
It
gives students, staff, community, and faculty at Evergreen an
opportunity to gather and have fun while supporting a great cause, and
exercising at the same time.
The proceeds of this fun event are awarded to a student who is majoring in physical education or related areas.
