Financial Aid Ambassador Program

In partnership with Student Development, the Financial Aid Office presents our Financial Aid Student Development Ambassador Program.  

Our Mission Statement

The mission of the FASD Ambassador Program is to provide paid opportunities to student leaders who will assist Evergreen Valley College students, High School Partners and Community Organizations with Financial Aid Awareness and Student Development through Student Engagement, to enhance Student Success.  The program brings together a diverse group of students who have a passion for helping others navigate their way through the financial aid process, while promoting community and campus involvement to support retention/completion. 

About Our Program

What Does an Ambassador do?

  • Serve as leaders to raise awareness of Financial Aid/Scholarship Resources.
  • Serve as leaders to raise awareness of Student Support Programs available to the campus.
  • Serve as Peer Mentors for students through the College and Financial Aid process.
  • Assist current and prospective students/families in overcoming financial barriers to education.
  • Enhance cooperation with high schools, community organizations and the public regarding financial aid and campus opportunities.
  • Assist with financial aid activities such as workshops, presentations and events.
  • Assist with community events such as Cash for College and College Fairs.
  • Assist and promote regular campus events in partnership with Student Development.
  • Assist the campus with Basic Needs Initiatives and Events

    What are the benefits of being an Ambassador?
  • Build leadership and public-speaking skills.
  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of the financial aid process and campus resources.
  • Establish relationships with campus administrators, faculty, staff and students at Evergreen Valley College.
  • Develop relationships with high schools, and community organizations.
  • Being able to contribute back to the high school or community from which you came from.
  • Develop and grow as part of our campus community.
  • Campus employment increases retention & completion.

    Becoming an Ambassador

  • Have a submitted FAFSA (you do not need to qualify for aid).
  • Have a submitted Cal Dream Application and eligible to work.
  • Enrolled in 12+ units for each semester.
  • Have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA, with a 67% or higher completion rate or be a new student.
  • Have at least 36 units remaining to complete your Academic Program.
  • Have no more than 24-degree applicable units attempted.
  • Have a current Educational Plan on file.
  • Demonstrate strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit leadership, initiative, dependability, discipline and enthusiasm.
  • Exhibit sensitivity to the barriers that some students face when funding their education.
  • Commit to work in the program for 1-2 academic years.
  • Commit to working 12 hours per week during each primary semester.
  • Willingness to submit Academic Progress Reports
