5 Steps For UC TAG

UC campuses offer guaranteed admission to California community college students who meet specific requirements. Students can TAG to one campus and if all requirements are met, they are guaranteed admission to that campus. Students also need to complete the UC application by the designated deadline. Follow these steps to qualify for a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG). 


Review the TAG Criteria Tips Sheet for the university with which you would like to TAG. • These are posted on the Transfer Center webpage. Find the individual campus Tip Sheet and major specific requirements and read them carefully.


Attend a TAG workshop in September • View TAG Workshop Schedule below or check the Calendar • Gather copies of all transcripts (EVC and other colleges/universities) and bring to the workshop session.


Complete TAG application online. • Applications must be submitted September 1-30.


Check e-mail on a regular basis to respond to the EVCTAG Reviewer's requests for additional information if you TAG to UC Davis.


Apply to the University of California system during the priority application period of November 1-30.

What Is TAG?
Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) is a written or online agreement between you, Evergreen Valley College and the participating four year college or university. If you meet the criteria and maintain eligibility for a specific college or university, you are guaranteed admission for that application cycle. For more information on TAG requirements, please go to the website for the specific UC campus. Please note that all information is subject to change. Consult with your counselor and visit each UC campus website for changes and updates.

Which UC campuses participates in TAG?

UC Davis 
UC Irvine 
UC Riverside 
UC Santa Barbara 
UC Santa Cruz 
UC Merced

(Note: You can only apply for one UC TAG, but you can apply through regular admission to as many UC campuses as you wish).
Why participate in TAG?

Early review of your academic records
Advance admission notification
Specific guidance about major preparation and general education coursework
Guaranteed admission upon completion of all admission and TAG requirements by the end of Spring semester prior to Fall admission

What are the requirements for TAG?

Have at least 30 transferrable units at the time of application
Have at least 60 transferrable units completed by the end of the spring semester prior to Fall admission
Complete coursework and maintain GPA required by the university. Some majors require specific preparation courses. Please check each campus website for details

How Do I Apply For TAG?

Make sure you have your academic records from all colleges and universities you attended. Complete a TAG application by using the UC Transfer Admission Planner (TAP). Create an account by logging on tohttp://uctap.universityofcalifornia.edu
Review your completed application. For assistance, make an appointment with your counselor or speak with a UC representative
Submit your TAG application between September 1-30, one year before you plan to transfer

Keep in mind: TAG applications are due Sept. 30th for fall admission cycle, but you can only apply for a TAG at one campus. To keep your options open, is recommended to apply to other UC campuses during the regular application cycle (Nov. 1-30).
