
Grounds Services is responsible for maintaining the 160 acre Evergreen Valley College campus, nearly 7 million square feet of land. The team that keeps the campus grounds looking beautiful is led by Thomas Quade with a crew of five: Gary Cooper - Groundskeeper III, Arthur Azevedo - Groundskeeper III, Rafael Hernandez - Groundskeeper II, David Camara - Groundskeeper II, and Jorge Quezada - Groundskeeper II.
The Grounds Services team perform the following:
- Keep the campus clean - remove litter in the landscape and parking lots
- Clean up leaves and debris in the parking lots and walkways
- Clean up pathways, roadways, and parking lots with street sweeper
- Prune trees and shrubs
- Lake maintenance
- Mow down weeds in the open fields – weed abatement
- Mow lawns
- Fertilize lawns
- Repair sprinklers and valves
- Repair irrigation water line breaks
- Prepare sports fields and maintain sports turf
- Weed and pest control
- Program irrigation controllers
- Interface and coordinate with planned construction activities
