What is Fifteen4Free?
Fifteen4Free is an exciting opportunity for eligible students who take 15 or more units in the Spring 2023 semester to receive up to $1,500 credit for the EVC campus bookstore to cover textbooks and course materials. 

  1. What steps must be taken to qualify for Fifteen4Free?
    Students must apply for admission, apply for financial aid, and register for 15 or more units at EVC for Spring 2023.
     
  2. Is Fifteen4Free only applicable for Spring 2023?
    Yes, Fifteen4Free only applies for Spring 2023.  
     
  3. What happens if students owe a fee from previous terms?
    Students must pay fees owed for previous terms.  
     
  4. What is the deadline to apply for Fifteen4Free?
    The deadline for eligibility for Fifteen4Free is Sunday, February 12, 2023, at 11:59 p.m.
     
  5. What happens if a student misses the deadline?
    Students who miss the deadline will not be eligible for Fifteen4Free.

Eligibility

  1. Who is eligible for Fifteen4Free?
    This applies to all California and in-state first-time, continuing, and returning students. This includes high school students.
     
  2. How will I know if I will receive Fifteen4Free?
    Beginning the week of January 3, 2023 students who have met all eligibility requirements for Fifteen4Free will begin to be notified.  
     
  3. Must students be California residents, in-state students or AB540 to quality for Fifteen4Free?
    Yes.  Students must be California residents or in-state students to qualify for Fifteen4Free.  Students who are designated as AB540 students by the Admissions & Records Office are also eligible.
     
  4. Are high school students eligible for Fifteen4Free?
    Yes.  High school students enrolled are eligible for Fifteen4Free.
     
  5. Are out-of-state students eligible for Fifteen4Free?
    No.  Out-of-state students are not eligible for Fifteen4Free.
     
  6. Are international students eligible for Fifteen4Free?
    No.  International students are not eligible for Fifteen4Free.

Admission Application

  1. How do students apply for admission to Evergreen Valley College?
    Apply for admission through CCCApply.  This step only applies to new students or students who have taken a break from Evergreen Valley College for more than two semesters.
     
  2. Can I apply in-person or with a paper-based admission application?
    Yes.  Students may apply in person or with a paper-based application. 
     
  3. How much does it cost to apply for admission to Evergreen Valley College?
    It is free to apply for admission to Evergreen Valley College.

Financial Aid

  1. Do students need to apply for financial aid?
    Yes, all students need to apply for financial aid to be considered for free tuition, zero student fees and Fifteen4Free for Spring 2023.
     
  2. What award year do I need to submit a financial aid application for?
    Students must submit a financial aid application for the 2022-2023 Award Year.  
     
  3. How do students apply for financial aid?
    Apply for financial aid by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the California Dream Act Application, or the California College Promise Grant application for the 2022-2023 Award year.
     
  4. Will students who receive Fifteen4Free forfeit the rest of their financial aid award
    Eligible students may receive federal and state-based financial aid in addition to Fifteen4Free for Spring 2023. *If you receive the Cal Grant Student Success grant, you are not eligible for Fifteen4Free.
     
  5. What is the deadline to apply for financial aid to be eligible for Fifteen4Free for Spring 2023?
    The deadline to apply for financial aid for Fifteen4Free is February 12, 2023, at 11:59 p.m.

Course Registration

  1. How do students register for classes?
    Students may register for classes through Self  Service, the online student portal.
     
  2. Do students need to register for 15 or more units to quality for Fifteen4Free for Spring 2023?
    Yes.  Students need to register for 15 or more units at EVC for Spring 2023.
     
  3. Do noncredit courses count towards the 15 unit minimum enrollment?
    No.  Noncredit courses do not count towards the 15 unit minimum enrollment.
     
  4. What is the deadline to register for classes for Spring 2023 to be eligible for Fifteen4Free?
    Students must register for classes for Spring 2023 by February 12, 2023, at 11:59 p.m.
