Evergreen Valley College is offering free tuition and zero student fees for the fall 2022 semester. You have to register for at least six units and applies to all  in-state, first time, continuing, and returning students, including high school students, who are California residents or AB540. In addition:

  • All students must upload proof of vaccination upon registration.
  • All students need to apply for financial aid in order to be considered for free tuition and zero student fees for Fall 2022

We have developed this quick step-by-step process to help guide you through the full application process and our team is here to help and support you.

Your first step to attending EVC is to apply to the college and obtain your Student Identification number (SID). 

Once you get your SID, make sure to upload your proof of vaccination if you plan on taking in-person or hybrid classes.

EVC has a variety of financial aid options. To see which of the following grants and opportunities you may be eligible for, complete the Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

An Orientation will provide you with general information regarding EVC's services and programs such as transfer and degree requirements, vocational programs, and student services, as well as academic expectations, facilities, and resources available to you. You are required to complete the orientation either online or in person.

  • To complete the online orientation, you will need to activate your Canvas account before you begin the orientation. Once you have successfully activated your Canvas account, you can then access the Online Orientation.

Note: Please bring all transcripts and/or test scores with you to the In-person orientation.  In particular, we will need your high school transcripts if you are a recent high school graduate.

What steps must be taken to qualify for free tuition and zero student fees?
Students must apply for admission, apply for financial aid, and register for 6 or more units for Fall 2022 and submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

Is free tuition and zero student fees only applicable for Fall 2022?
Yes, free tuition and zero student fees only applies for Fall 2022.  It does not apply for summer 2022.

What happens if students owe a fee from previous terms?
Students must pay fees for previous terms.  The offer of free tuition and zero student fees only applies to Fall 2022.

What is the deadline to apply for free tuition and zero student fees?
The deadline to apply for free tuition and zero student fees is Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 11:59 p.m.

What happens if a student misses the deadline?
Students who miss the deadline will not be eligible for free tuition or zero student fees for Fall 2022.
 

Eligibility

Who is eligible for free tuition and zero student fees?
This applies to all California and in-state first-time, continuing, and returning students including high school students.

How will I know if I will receive free tuition and zero student fees?
Beginning September 12th, the EVC Business Office will begin checking students eligibility requirements to determine who is eligible for free tuition and zero student fees.  Eligible students with a balance due will receive a credit in their account.  The credit will remove the cost of tuition and fees for Fall 2022. 

Must students be California residents, in-state students or AB540 to quality for free tuition and zero student fees?
Yes.  Students must be California residents or in-state students to quality for free tuition and zero student fees.  Students who are designated as AB540 students by the Admissions & Records Office are also eligible.

Are high school students eligible for free tuition and zero student fees?
Yes.  High school students enrolled in dual enrollment are eligible for free tuition and zero student fees.

Are out-of-state students eligible for free tuition and zero student fees?
No.  Out-of-state students are not eligible for free tuition or zero student fees.

Are international students eligible for free tuition and zero student fees?
No.  International students are not eligible for free tuition and zero student fees.

Do I have to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to be eligible?
Yes. Students must submit proof of vaccination upon registration to the EVC MyHealth portal. To upload a picture of your hard copy vaccination card or digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record, please refer to the step-by-step directions for uploading your student vaccination record or watch the How to Upload Your Vaccination Record video.  Students do not have to resubmit if this step is completed.
 

Admission Application

How do students apply for admission to Evergreen Valley College?
Apply for admission through CCCApply.  This step only applies to new students or students who have taken a break from Evergreen Valley College for more than two semesters.

Can I apply in-person or with a paper-based admission application?
Yes.  Students may apply in person or with a paper-based application. 

How much does it cost to apply for admission to Evergreen Valley College?
It is free to apply for admission to Evergreen Valley College.

Financial Aid

Do students need to apply for financial aid?
Yes, all students need to apply for financial aid in order to be considered for free tuition and zero student fees for Fall 2022.

What award year do I need to submit a financial aid application for?
Students must submit a financial aid application for the 2022-2023 Award Year. 

How do students apply for financial aid?
Apply for financial aid by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the California Dream Act Application, or the California College Promise Grant application for the 2022-2023 Award year.

Will students who receive free tuition and zero student fees forfeit the rest of their financial aid award?
No.  Eligible students will receive federal and state-based financial aid in addition to free tuition and zero student fees for Fall 2022.

What is the deadline to apply for financial aid to be eligible for free tuition and zero student fees for Fall 2022?
The deadline to apply for financial aid for free tuition and zero student fees is Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 11:59 p.m
 

Course Registration

How do students register for classes?
Students may register for classes through MyWeb, the online student portal.

Do students need to register for 6 or more units to quality for free tuition and zero student fees for Fall 2022?
Yes.  Students need to register for 6 or more units for Fall 2022.

Do noncredit courses count towards the 6 unit minimum enrollment?
No.  Noncredit courses do not count towards the 6 unit minimum enrollment.

Can high school students take more than 11 units and qualify for free tuition and zero student fees?
Yes.  High School students must have approval from their high school to enroll in more than 11 units. High School students must submit a Special Admit Form to Admissions and Records.
 
What is the deadline to register for classes for Fall 2022 to be eligible for free tuition and zero student fees?
Students must register for classes for Fall 2022 by Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 11:59 p.m.
 

Fees

What fees are covered by the free tuition and zero student fees offer for Fall 2022?
Tuition (also known as Enrollment Fee), health services fee, student activity fee, student representation fee, and VTA EcoPass fee (bus pass) will be covered for Fall 2022 only.

Will students who paid for tuition and student fees be eligible for a refund if they are eligible for free tuition and zero student fees?
Yes.  Students will receive a refund for the tuition and student fees paid prior to being eligible for free tuition and zero student fees for Fall 2022.
