EVC Promise (San Jose Promise)

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and our efforts to ensure your safety and the safety of your loved ones, we are transitioning from in-person to online instruction as of Monday, March 16. EVC has moved our operations to a virtual/remote format through the end of the spring semester. ​Benefits of the College Promise Program:

  • Free tuition
  • Access to EVC free Textbook Lending Library
  • Referral to special programs
  • Free tutoring and mentoring
  • Academic counseling support
  • Access to free and fun events, performances, lectures, films and more

EVC Promise students commit to:

    • Attend a summer (onboarding) orientation prior to beginning of the first semester
    • Enroll full-time (minimum 12 units) during the academic year for the duration of the program
    • Register for all your classes by at least one week prior to the add/drop (census) date.
    • Maintain academic progress and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
    • Declare a major within their first year at EVC counselor
    • Complete a comprehensive Student Educational Plan their first year at EVC
    • Meet with an academic counselor at least once per semester
    • Participate in two of the  required College Promise Program workshops, tutoring, and activities
