Local college opens new sports complex complete with futsal, pickleball, basketball, and tennis courts, viewing patios for EVC students and the surrounding San Jose community.
(San Jose, CA) – A community and campus asset, the newly opened EVC Sports Complex is intended for use by students and the surrounding San Jose community. The complex includes new futsal, pickleball, and basketball courts with viewing patios and improved ADA access. EVC logos appear on fields and throughout the modernized landscape of paved walkways, bioretention shrubs, and trees.
With mailed notices out to over 4,000 nearby residents, EVC students, and staff, the grand opening is sure to be a celebratory gathering. Guests receive welcome swag bags and refreshments. Invited speakers* share remarks and cut the grand opening ribbon. Guided tours of the complex are provided. *Invited speakers include: Tammeil Gilkerson, EVC President; Maria Fuentes, SJECCD Board President; and EVC representatives.

The Big Deal. Evergreen Valley College is putting voter-supported bond dollars to excellent use by executing projects that are transforming the entire campus and enhancing the overall college experience for its students. The Sports Complex is just one of several new buildings on the list; smaller capital and infrastructure projects are in progress and others that have recently been completed.
EVC is also opening a new Student Services Complex, Language Arts Building, General Education Building, and Sequoia Nursing Building. Completed projects include the Gullo II multipurpose room, West ADA, North Fire Lane, Student Activities Center, and Cedro Classroom.
