Counseling Appointments

Appointments are scheduled starting at 8am during our business hours and can be scheduled three (3) weeks in advance.  September, February, and March are among the best times to make an appointment.  Please be aware that appointments book quickly during peak periods, such as registration and the start and end of each semester.  Click on Make an Appointment (or button below) to schedule an appointment on your own or call the Counseling Front Desk at (408) 270-6475.

Types of Appointments

  • 60 minutes (for comprehensive Student Education Plans, Graduation Petitions, Financial Aid Appeal, Personal Counseling, Dismissal, Preliminary Evaluation of Transcripts from other Institutions (not high school).
     
  • 30 minutes (for In-progress Prerequisite Verification, 1-2 semesters Student Education Plan, Transfer Process and Timeline).
     
  • Express Counseling--available Tue.-Thurs. 9am-3pm during Spring and Fall semesters only (up to 15 minutes, for Class Problems; Class Recommendations for First Time College Students; EVC College Policies & Procedures; English/Math Recommendations; Prerequisite Verification; Prerequisite Clearances).

  • Wed.: 8am-6pm (Fall/Spring)
  • Wed.: 8am-5pm (Summer/Winter)
  • Fri: 8am-1pm (in person or Zoom)
  • Fri.: 1pm-5pm (Zoom only)

ZOOM Information

Online Appointments take place via Zoom, an online meeting platform that works on computers, smart phones, or tablets. A       Zoom account is not necessary to participate. Visit Zoom Help Center for video tutorials.

After you schedule your online appointment, you will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom meeting link with login instructions. Please check in 10 minutes before your scheduled Zoom appointment to deal with any technology problems that might arise and wait for your Counselor in the virtual Waiting Room.
 

Counseling Policies

Late Policy

Students will be marked as a "no show" and must schedule a new appointment if they are:

  • 10 or more minutes late to a 30-minute appointment
  • 15 or more minutes late to a 60-minute appointment
Cancellation Policy

We strongly recommend that you make every effort to keep your appointment in order to avoid a long wait period for a new appointment.  Should you need to cancel an existing appointment, we require 24 hours notice. You may cancel your scheduled appointment on eSARS On-Line Appointments or by calling the Student Success Center at 408-270-6475
