Campus Tutoring Center

Welcome to The Campus Tutoring Program at EVC!

The EVC tutoring center provides free tutoring services and support in various subjects for registered EVC students. The tutoring program also recruits and trains new student tutors each semester, providing job opportunities for students during their academic time at EVC. Tutoring is available on a drop-in, open-lab basis and appointments are not necessary.

Main Locations:

  • Library Building - Main Level (2nd Floor)
  • MS3 - STEM Center (1st Floor)

How do I register to use Campus Tutoring?

All students who are registered in courses at Evergreen Valley College are eligible for free tutoring. Simply use Self-Service to add an II 210 Supervised Tutoring section. Tutors can assist you in adding this non-credit, no fee Individualized Instruction II 210 course.  You then use your Student ID number to log in and log out whenever you receive tutoring. The last day to register for tutoring and/or other resource services is the same day as the college's "last day to drop with a W."

Study Tips from our Tutors

DID YOU KNOW?

The recommended formula to allocate for study time is 2 hours of study time for each unit you are taking.

You are taking a 3 unit English class.
3 units = 3 hours in class
3 hours in class x 2 hours of study time = 6 hours per week

Include class time, exercise, socializing, work, and build in the study time for the week. Also, add when assignments are due.

Successful students know how to ask for help and they do so easily. Ask for help from your instructors and take advantage of their office hours.  Instructors post office hours on their syllabus.

review your class notes within 24 hours after writing them. Remember to use annotations to explain lectures in your own words, make comments, and expand on information.
