Natalia Medina transfered to Santa Clara University after being a part of EVC's paralegal program. She interned for both the public defender and district attorney offices while at EVC. As starter on the EVC soccer team she was also a role model for the Hawks' soccer team.
PARALEGALS AT EVC
Paralegals, also called legal assistants, do a wide variety of tasks in the area of
law under the supervision of a lawyer. Many EVC students already work in the field
and want to earn our 24-unit paralegal certificate. Some students are first-generation
students as well and are learning about law for the first time. The associate's degree
is also a first step for students to earn a four-year degree and, possibly one day,
pass the bar.
With a Paralegal degree or certificate, you can provide for your family with a rewarding

Intro to Law (LA-10)
A good first step for students is to take our Intro to Law course, which allows them to dip their toes in the legal profession.
What is a Paralegal?
A Paralegal conducts legal research, drafts documents, and organizes case files. They also maintain communication with their clients. Paralegals can work for private law firms, corporations, and government entities.
Where Can a Paralegal Career Lead?
Students can also use our paralegal certificate as a springboard for law school. A law school commitment includes a four-year degree, law school, and the bar exam. As a paralegal, you can continue to earn money in the field while continuing your education.
