If you’re an EOPS student who is also unmarried, the parent of a child under 14 years
old, the head of your household, and receiving TANF/CalWORKs benefits, you might also
qualify for the Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) program.
CARE gives students even more extra support, like meal cards, regional retreats and
even more help with things EOPS does not cover, like transportation (gas cards) and
school supplies.
It also offers personal development workshops, which can help you gain skills important
for school, your career, and life in general.

Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) is intended to help students disadvantaged
by social, economic, educational, or linguistic barriers get the resources needed
to enroll and succeed at Evergreen Valley College.
EOPS provides guidance and support in order to help students achieve their academic,
career, and personal goals.

Academic Counseling
EOPS provides dedicated academic counselors who work closely with students to create
educational plans.
Workshops and Skill Development
The program often includes workshops on study skills, time management, and financial
literacy.
Textbook Voucher Funds
EOPS students gain access to textbook voucher funds every Fall and Spring semester
to aid with paying for their required course materials.
EOPS Grant Funds
Upon completing all semester requirements, EOPS students are granted EOPS Grant Funds
every Fall and Spring semester.
Emergency Grant Funds
EOPS students can apply for Emergency Grants through the EOPS office which can be
awarded under special circumstances.
Transfer Assistance
For students planning to transfer to a four-year university, EOPS provides resources
and support. We also tour local UC and Cal State campuses like San Jose State, Cal
State East Bay, Cal, UC Davis, and UC Santa Cruz.
Priority Registration
EOPS students typically receive priority registration for classes.
Scholarship Opportunities
EOPS students gain access to unique scholarship opportunities exclusive to EVC EOPS
students.
Financial Aid Workshops
EOPS students can attend special Financial Aid workshops tailored to their specific
financial needs.
Free EVC Cap and Gown
Current and former EVC EOPS students receive a free EVC cap and gown, as well as special
EOPS regalia upon completion of their program of study at EVC.
