Eligibility

 

You may be eligible for NextUp if you:

  • Are a current or former foster youth in California whose dependency was established on or after your 13th birthday
  • Are younger than 26 years old at the beginning of the academic year
  • Are a California resident or qualify for a California nonresident tuition exemption (such as AB 540)
  • Have unmet financial need as determined through the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application

 

You may be eligible for YESS-ILP services if you:

  • Are a current or former foster youth
  • Are between the ages of 16 and 21
  • Are currently participating in, or are eligible for, Independent Living Program (ILP) services
  • Are enrolled or planning to enroll at Evergreen Valley College
  • Would benefit from additional support as you transition from foster care to greater independence and educational succes
