The J.E.W.L. Museum presents a celebration of Black Music as part of African-American Music Appreciation Month.

The online event will discuss conductors, writers, singers, musicians, and composers, and their contributions to all genres of music from Africa, spanning various corners of the world. President Jimmy Carter in 1979 and President Barack Obama both proclaimed June to be the month to celebrate this genre.

The J.E.W.L. Institute collects and preserves history and current African-American experiences and provides access to that information at Evergreen Valley College.
