Equal Pay Day is a public awareness event illustrating how far into the year American women must work to earn what men earned in the previous year.  The date changes each year to reflect the data and difference in earnings between men and women in the same occupation, also known as the gender pay gap.  For 2026, Equal Pay Day is observed on March 26, signifying that, on average, American women earn 81¢* for every dollar earned by men for the same job.
