The first round of the contest this year (2025-2026) will be held from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in room MS-217 on November 4.
To prepare for this contest exam, the Math Department will be holding meetings on the final three Fridays of this month (October 17, 24, and 31). During the meetings, we will go over the Fall AMATYC Contest and discuss why 2025 is a special year. The meetings will be held from 12:45 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. in room AB-201 (Acacia Building).
- No advance sign-up required, just show up.
- The national winner will receive a $3000 scholarship.
- Problems from Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus & Trigonometry.
- Calculators allowed (but not the computer-type).

What is the AMATYC Contest?
The AMATYC "Student Math League" Contest is a nationwide community college competition consisting of two one-hour exams administered each year.
AMATYC is the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges. Participating students will have the opportunity to earn cash prizes and scholarships!
