Next Steps Workshops

Workshop Description: Provide an overview of the campus resources, critical dates and deadlines, and what students can expect between now and when classes begin, Fall 2021. This is not an advising session and attendance is not mandatory.

CSU University Application Workshops

Workshop Description: After attending the CSU Application workshop, students will increase their knowledge and skills for completing an online application. Workshops will include a page-by-page review of the online application system.

Workshop check-list (student must get documents ready before workshop):

  • Unofficial Transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
  • Social Security number
  • Citizenship status
  • Test Scores (Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, A-Level, TOEFL or IELTS exam scores)
  • Annual income if dependent from parents'; student income if you are independent
  • CCCID and Campus ID: Every California Community College student is assigned a campus-specific ID number. These numbers should be printed on EVC Unofficial transcript.
  • Student parent's employment background and two recommendations if applying to EOP. 
  • A method of payment to pay application fee by credit card.

  • Social Security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)
  • Annual income dependent from parents'; student income if you are independent
  • Citizenship status or "No Selection" - recommended for undocumented applicants
  • Test Scores (Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, A-Level, TOEFL or IELTS exam scores)
  • A method of payment to pay the application fee by credit card.

Personal Insight Questions (PIQs) Workshops

Workshop Description: Students will learn useful general tips and suggestions on developing and writing a strong university admissions personal statement/UC Personal Insight Questions.

ADT (AS-T/AA-T) Informational Workshops

Workshop Description: After attending an ADT workshop, students will be able to determine which ADT degree guarantees their transfer goal.

UC TAP & TAG Matrix Workshops

Workshop Description: After attending an UC Transfer Admission Planner & UC TAG Matrix workshop, students will create an account and connect it to Evergreen Valley College, and review the UC Matrix to determine which TAG program is best fit for them. TAG is known as the Transfer Admission Guarantee program. After workshop, students are advised to meet with their EVC Counselor to update their Education Plan to corresponding UC TAG Matrix selection.  

UC & CSU Transfer Overview Workshops

Workshop Description: After attending a Transfer Overview presentation, students will have an understanding of the CSU Golden Four (CSU), UC minimum requirements (7 course minimum), 60 unit transferrable minimum requirement, Transfer Impaction, degree search tools, and admission application deadlines for spring and fall cycles.

General Education Workshops

Workshop Description: 

After attending a General Education workshop, students will have an understanding of the CSU General Breath and IGETC, and they will be able to identify which general education pattern best supports their transfer goals.

UC TAG Application Workshops

Workshop Description: After attending a UC TAG workshop, students will increase their knowledge and skills for completing a TAG (Transfer Admission Guarantee) application though the Transfer Admission Planner (TAP). Workshops will include a page-by-page review of TAP to submit TAG. Students should have the following information ready: All College Transcripts, education plan for Fall 2021, Intersession 2022, and Spring 2022. And, education plan should satisfy TAG Matrix requirements.
