Print Form(s) And Bring to a 30 Minute Counseling Appointment

  • Academic Renewal Without Repetition
    Petition to exclude substandard EVC grades from GPA
  • Course Repeat Petition
    To repeat a course with substandard EVC grades, 3rd and 4th attempt taking the course. Your counselor will provide the form in the appointment.
  • Excess Unit Petition
    • Winter/Intersession maximum units allowed: 7.0 units.
    • Summer Session maximum units allowed: 10 units per each summer session. Please contact the Admissions office to register.
  • In-Progress Verification
    Petition to register in an EVC course requiring a prerequisite which is in progress at another college. Please review the form before your 30 minute appointment. 
  • Prerequisite Verification
    To verify a prerequisite or corequisite requirement was met at another college no appointment needed. Please fill out the Prerequisite Verification form, attach appropriate documents, and send to mycounselor@evc.edu or go directly to the Division office of the course.

What are Prerequisites and Corequisites?

Prerequisites are courses that must be completed with a "C" grade or better prior to enrollment in the desired course. Academic departments at EVC establish prerequisites in order to ensure students' readiness for enrollment in an EVC course.

How Do I Clear a Prerequisite/Corequisite?

Send your request with appropriate documents and transcripts to mycounselor@evc.edu with the subject line "Prerequisite Verification Request."  Be sure to include your EVC student ID number and the class you want to take in the body of the e-mail.

All transcripts must include the student's full name, and the name of the college.  Students must include a description of the course(s) from the college catalog and the year the course was completed. Screenshots or emails from professors are not accepted.  Other documentations such as AP, SAT, ACT, IB, CLEP, EAP, ELM, EPT, require official scores from the respective institutions.

If the prerequisite course is from an out-of-state or private college please go directly to the Deans office of the division dean of the requested course. For more information email mycounselor@evc.edu.
